About

Yusuf Kemal Kasideci

I am a multilingual author, editor, writer, translator, localisation specialist and web designer. I write in English and Turkish, and my work moves between literary fiction, essays on the human condition, and interdisciplinary research.

I am the founder of Re-Considered and serve as its editor-in-chief. The publication began as a place to think slowly and in public, and it has since grown into an archive of more than 75 essays and stories on philosophy, psychology, ethics, technology, relationships and personal growth.

My fiction is deep yet uncompromising. When Love Meets The Light, a trilogy of over 250,000 words completed in December 2025, follows a young man through his relentless search for identity and belonging, and how his obsessional love sent him tumbling into an illusory, fancied relationship that only existed in his head. The novel exposes the true cost of emotional misreadings and the extent of damage that a broken familial history can inflict on today's relationships. My Turkish historical novel, Kızılcık Şerbeti, turns to the late Ottoman period and tells the bittersweet tragic story of the Kasidecizâde family, as seen through the eyes of two of its most traumatised female members, my great- and great-great-grandmothers, Emine-Azize Kemal & Hatice-İkbal Bil.

My nonfiction work includes The Blindfold of Certainty, a book that gathers years of writing on the human condition into a single argument about the hidden opportunity cost of certainty, inviting us to question the assumptions we hold dear and to have the courage to look again at what we were sure we knew well. It also includes Physics Sorcery, which maps momentum, inertia, waves and the work-energy theorem onto leadership science and organisational behaviour — a framework for measuring growth at the level of a company, a department or a single person.
